about

This is the first cover song that I brought to the band for us to weave our dark magic over. Of course, Townes Van Zandt's song writing is masterful, and he has an uncanny knack of harnessing the essence of ugly protuberant feelings and transmuting them into things of beauty, so it was a no brainer that Richard and Vis would be immediately taken with this tune. I believe it's fair to say that we managed to do a fine job with this cover, which is also strongly influenced by Lucinda Williams' version on the Townes Van Zandt tribute album "Poet".
