Emil Morris This is one dark and haunting collection of songs from Tk Bollinger. My favorite of his so far and one that I keep coming back to. A must have for fans of all kinds of dark music! Warning: may cause depression... Favorite track: Wearing down my devotion.

about

A Catalogue of Woe is a collection of dark confessional doom-blues mixed with tortured, soul-soaked dirges and angsty minor key rock.
These songs were penned by singer/guitarist t.k. bollinger who has been reaping songs of sorrow in the Melbourne underground for nigh on 25 years. His fellow tillers of doom include R.S. Amor (on bass and engineering) and Vis Ortis (drums) better known for his dark metal project Mekigah.
The base tracks (lead vocals, guitar, bass and drums) were recorded live in Amor’s spare room/studio, Ugly Separation.
Later, these bones were fleshed out by overdubs recorded by Bollinger and Amor, as well as long-distance collaborator, Chad Shields.
These songs are personal, though not necessarily biographical. Bollinger writes in the first person to hook you into the tale he is relating so that you can share the journey with him. These stories may seem bleak, but in the end are worthwhile as they point to the possibility of personal redemption, not necessarily handed down from above, but inevitably extracted from within. While Bollinger is a dolorist, he’s also a humanist. His songs hold out the possibility that the shit in life can become the compost for new growth – that the darkest shadows are revealed by the brightest light.

about

t.k. bollinger Melbourne, Australia

Shunning fashion and genre, master tunesmith, t.k. bollinger's songs are relatable because they examine what each of us confront in our day-to-day existence. Expressed with both sympathy and eloquence, his songs are celebrations of the joys and trials that life presents to each of us regardless of who or what we are – the universal ordinary concerns of a diverse and disparate humanity. ... more
